Challenge #2 (January 12 2012)
"How strong are your dogs 'look' and 'leave it' cues? Place a few of your dogs favorite treats or most desired food as close to him as possible(Duke lives for the chance of getting a hotdog). If you can, put a piece on each paw. Now stand back, get your camera ready, and give your eye contact cue. Need a bigger challenge? Balance a piece on their nose while still asking for eye contact, or step away to the other side of the room! Remember, be patient, positive and work up to this slowly if your dog can't quite achieve it yet. "I have a quick challenge for you all today! Stand directly infront of your dog while your dog is standing, then turn your back to him. Say 'Sit' you can even use a hand signal.... Need a bigger challenge? Lay flat on your back with arms crossed over your chest and say 'Sit!'. Don't forget to praise your dog like crazy if he gets it right. Let me know what happens! :) "
